What if activating a site’s history helped expand its creative futures?
Formerly home to UArts, and recently acquired by Scout, Ltd. the historic Hamilton and Furness Halls on Broad Street are the only properties from the portfolio to remain in service of City’s creative communities. As an initial spark to return activity to the site, ISA collaborated with North Standard fabrication and construction to design and build furniture, signage and bar elements for Frankie’s Summer Club, a wine bar and space of reflection within the courtyard of the buildings.

PLAYING WITH THE PAST
A vertical bar structure recalling an unbuilt design for the adjacent Kimmel Center site by Louis Kahn circa 1975 is complemented by a playfully shaped entry portal, custom curving tables and benches and drink rails hosting up to 200 people in the 6,500 SF outdoor space.
SIDECAR CELEBRATIONS
The seasonal outdoor hospitality space will serve wine, ice cream, and snacks in partnership with Irwins - a lauded Sicilian restaurant based out of Scout’s flagship Bok Building development in South Philadelphia.
